CCPO Lease Membership Meetings are geared towards those who are joining the lease for the first time. Gold Card members are encouraged to attend at least one of these meetings early in the year so that they can exchanged their Gold Cards for new temporary cards, meet new lease members, and receive an updated Membership Guide. You only need to attend one of these meetings to sign up, so please don't think you need to attend every scheduled event! We schedule many of these so that everyone interested has the opportunity to join the lease.

These meetings are informal and take about 45 minutes from start to finish. These meetings will start on time. Please arrive 15 mintues prior to allow for the walk from the parking area down tot he meeting site. We meet on the property at our CCPO Kiosk, which is about 1,500' downstream from the parking area and on the left side of the creek. You can't miss it, it's a big wood announcement board in a large clearing.

There are some trails heading down, but you will be required to cross the creek sooner or later! Don't worry, the creek is only six to twelve inches deep in most places! Wear boots or sneakers that you don't mind getting wet. You may also bring a folding camping chair or bucket to sit on. Bring your prospecting gear too! You can start prospecting as soon as the meeting is over and you have your card!

During the meeting, we will introduce you to the property, its history, and our privledge to prospect upon it. You will receive the new CCPO Lease Membership Guide, which has all of the rules and a map of the property. Once you sign the agreement form and the liability waiver, you will be issued your CCPO temporary membership card.

During the course of the rest of the year, you must perform three hours of maintenance on the property during one of our many scheduled group PMEs (Property Maintenance Events). We maintain our lease by contributing back to the property. This keeps the property maintained and proves to the owner that we can responsibly participate in our hobby. Once your three hours are completed, you will receive a Gold Membership Card. This means two things: (1) You have completed your annual PME requirement. (2) You reserve your privledge to rejoin the lease in the next year. Those members who do not complete their required PME will not be permitted to renew their lease membership the following year. This ensures that those prospectors that are serious about helping us maintain this property continue to enjoy this privledge for years to come.
