The Contrary Creek Prospectors Organization, or CCPO, is a group of prospectors and rock hounds who responsibly enjoy recreational activites on mineral-rich Contrary Creek. Through the lease, members of the organization have exclusive access to over one mile of mineral-rich Contrary Creek.
Contrary Creek flows through a historically rich region of Virginia. More than a dozen mines are located within this gold bearing region in Louisa County. Evidence of past mining operations is visible throughout the area, and massive tailing piles can still be seen stacked along the creek. There are miles of gold and mineral bearing streams which continuously feed new gold to Contrary Creek.
	The objective of the Contrary Creek Prospectors Organization is to provide a free location for enthusiasts to enjoy outdoor activities. In doing so, members who enjoy such access and activity agree to care for the leased property in a responsible manner, preserving the vision the owner has for the property both now and for years to come.
